Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was just five, she moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled at the Dragon School. Emma was inspired to become an actor at age six. Over the course of several years, she attended the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. In the school, she was taught singing as well as dancing, and also acting. By the time she turned 10, she had already taken part in numerous Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) The film adaptation of J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was first cast for the first time in 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma through her Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after they all had eight straight auditions. Emma's first film on the screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone that was released in the year 2001. It beat all previous records on its opening and weekend ticket revenues, and was the top-grossing 2001 film. The film has been praised by critics for its film, as well as the performance by three young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British publication, described Emma's acting "amazing". Then Emma was nominated for five awards for her performance in the film and was awarded the Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress in an Feature Film.
